About Winup
The program was made by Ben Thomson (aka Banjo) in Visual Basic 6. Ok now some of you may be put off by the fact it was created in such an old language, but the program still works and Visual Basic 6 is my favourite desktop programming language as I have the most knowledge in it compared to others. I have since ported it to vb.net and in the future might consider porting to C++ if I ever get round to learning the language.
So why did I make this program you may ask? It all started in August 2008 on Zymic IRC. We were having a discussion about GrabUp and how it would be good to have a version of it for windows. This gave me the idea of making my own version, so I decided that I would have a go at creating one. Since then I have been working on the program in my free time and have rewritten the program too many times to count.
